How's The Daily Grind?

Does it feel like your you just living the daily grind of just so-so living or are you living an abundant life?

When you think about your life, do you feel excitement or a little disappointment? Has life become dull and routine or are you continually looking to see what you can learn and enjoy? Proverbs 17:22 says “A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.” You don’t need to live like each day is just a daily grind but a new adventure with purposeful possibilities instead.

What would happen if you tried experimenting with new activities to live a better and more joyful life? Maybe you just plop down onto your couch at days end and just flip channels or do the same old thing day after day through bored and glazed over eyes? If so, why do you think you have become content in your discontentment? That ho-hum daily grind existence surely doesn’t make you feel great and energized for your best life!

"Sometimes we get stale and don’t really feel that vigor to get going and get excited in our everyday lives. We’re tired and a bit worn down from this challenging world. Admit it, our lives can tend to get monotonous if we are not paying attention.

What I lack in talent, I compensate with my willingness to grind it out. That’s the secret of my life." – Guy Kawasaki

God gave us all an amazing life with limitless opportunities and challenges. Our daily grind and challenges sometimes make us weary and tends to make that couch and remote look rather inviting. You know as well as I do that you need to flip that switch and use your time to do something to get off of that couch and back into living.

When that hit’s you, look for new things to try to motivate and energize your life. Try picking up a new hobby, read a new book or devotional or even join a small group if you are not already in one. I recently saw a friend from church making baby blankets for LifeCare of Brandon and I thought that would be a great and easy project. Once I even went on Amazon and bought challenging coloring books and tons of pencils. Get creative and out of that comfortable box you’ve put yourself in and live the life our glorious Father has blessed us with.

“Live a good life. In the end it is not the years in a life, but the life in the years.” ― Abraham Lincoln
